British wildcard Arthur Fery reaches Wimbledon semis to face Zverev

Arthur Fery, the 23-year-old world number 114, has propelled himself into the limelight during a sensational run at Wimbledon. A British wildcard and two-time All-American at Stanford who grew up about a mile from the All England Club, Fery defied expectations by triumphing on Centre Court over former world No 3 Grigor Dimitrov.

Fery continued his fairytale run on Wednesday with a stunning 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-0 victory over Italian ninth seed Flavio Cobolli. Backed by a partisan Centre Court, he became only the fourth wildcard to reach the men's singles semi-finals at a Grand Slam.

Fery will now play for a place in the Wimbledon final in a semi-final match against German second seed Alexander Zverev, who has also reached uncharted territory at the All England Club.
