Ship seized off UAE coast heading toward Iran

A commercial vessel anchored off the east coast of the United Arab Emirates was seized by unauthorized personnel on Thursday. The ship was located northeast of the port of Fujairah, near the southern entry to the strait of Hormuz.

The vessel is currently heading toward Iranian territorial waters. This event is the latest vessel seizure to take place around the strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that ships entering the strait of Hormuz must cooperate with the Iranian navy.
