President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree granting the Russian state the authority to take temporary control of critical infrastructure facilities.
This power allows the government to intervene if these facilities are deemed to be poorly or insufficiently protected from Ukrainian drone attacks and other threats.
The measure specifically targets situations where private owners fail to protect the infrastructure or fail to repair and rebuild the facilities after they have been hit by strikes.
