President Donald Trump on Thursday named Adam Telle as the acting Army secretary. Telle, who currently serves as the assistant secretary of the Army for civil works, succeeds Dan Driscoll.

Telle previously served during Trump's first term as a special assistant to the president for legislative affairs. Trump described Telle in a Truth Social post as a Great Patriot who is respected by all.

Dan Driscoll resigned as the Army's top civilian official earlier this week without providing an explanation for his decision. His departure follows widespread reports of months of tension with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Reports further indicate that some of Driscoll's allies within the Army were ousted this year by the Pentagon chief.
