Stripe Inc. has finalized an agreement to acquire OpenRouter Inc. for more than $7 billion. OpenRouter is a startup that assists companies in switching between various artificial intelligence models.

The company provides developers with a single access point to more than 400 artificial intelligence models. This approach allows a customer to integrate with OpenRouter once and then swap different models as needed, based on the pitch that one integration outlives any single model.

The deal comes just months after OpenRouter raised money at a reported $1.3 billion valuation. OpenRouter's CEO recently described the startup as the Stripe for AI.
