European prosecutors are conducting searches across France, Spain, Italy, and Belgium following allegations of the misappropriation of European Parliament funds. The raids are part of a probe into the defunct far-right Identity and Democracy (ID) group.

The ID group consisted of members from several Eurosceptic parties, including France's National Rally, Italy's League, and Alternative for Germany.

According to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the probe is based on a report claiming that far-right members unduly spent 4.33 million euros. The raids notably targeted a key contractor for the French far-right Rassemblement National party.
