Israel has continued to conduct strikes inside Gaza despite a fragile ceasefire agreement reached in October. The ceasefire has been described as stalled, though Israel maintains that it carries out strikes against Hamas and other militants who pose a threat, as well as in response to violations of the deal, including occasional attacks.

The Palestinian death toll from the Israel-Hamas war has surpassed 73,000, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. The conflict has displaced more than two million Palestinians and left large parts of Gaza in rubble.

Recent violence includes an Israeli attack that killed one person in central Gaza's Bureij camp, while a disabled Palestinian was shot in the occupied West Bank.
