Airbus to inspect 16 A380s after cracks found on wings

Airbus will inspect 16 A380 aircraft after cracks were discovered in a key wing component. The affected fleet includes 15 planes operated by Emirates and one by Qantas.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency has ordered urgent inspections of the wing-spar structure on the affected jets. As part of this directive, five A380 superjumbo jets must be grounded immediately for checks.

The cracks were identified during routine maintenance checks. This development comes as the aviation giant continues to battle growing costs across its operations and supply chain problems.
