Greek police arrest 89-year-old for shooting at Athens social security office

Greek police have arrested an 89-year-old man suspected of opening fire at two government sites in central Athens on Tuesday. The gunman targeted a social security office, known as EFKA, and the Court of Appeal, leaving between four and five people injured.

Following the shootings, authorities launched a manhunt for the suspect. He was detained approximately six hours after the incidents occurred and was found in possession of a loaded .38 revolver.

Local media have identified the suspect as a garbage collector from the Athens area.
