France will summon the Russian ambassador to Paris in the coming days following an alleged vast cyberattack and spying campaign targeting several European countries, including France. Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced the move on Monday.

In response to the campaign, the European Union and the United Kingdom are announcing new sanctions. The attacks reportedly targeted private companies, rail operators, and government ministries with the intention of sabotaging operations or capturing information.

Russia has frequently been accused of conducting acts of sabotage and cyberattacks across Europe. Moscow has repeatedly denied these allegations.
