Russia Jails 19 Over Deadly Moscow Concert Hall Attack

A Moscow court concluded cases related to the March 2024 attack on Crocus City Hall, Russia’s deadliest in over two decades. The attack, which occurred outside the Russian capital, resulted in the deaths of at least 149 people, including children, and injured over 600. Nineteen individuals were convicted for their involvement. Four perpetrators and eleven accomplices received life sentences for the attack, claimed by the Islamic State. Additionally, four other defendants were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 19 to 22 years. The incident, which unfolded in a burning building, caused widespread devastation and marked a significant security crisis for the country.
