President Donald Trump has announced his support for Darline Graham to run for a full six-year term in the U.S. Senate. Graham, the sister of the late Senator Lindsey Graham, was sworn into office earlier this week to serve out her brother's remaining term.

Trump stated that he spoke with Graham at the White House and urged her to run in the Special Republican Primary. In a post on Truth Social, the president wrote that he asked her to seek the seat for the good of the nation.

Graham, who has not previously held any elected office, has not yet publicly indicated if she will run in the November election. Trump's endorsement comes as she fills the seat following the sudden death of her brother.
