The U.S. military disabled the Palau-flagged oil products tanker Settebello in the Gulf of Oman on Tuesday. Centcom stated the action was taken because the vessel violated a U.S. Navy blockade of Iran.

Following the suspected missile strike, 21 Indian crew members have been rescued, while three others remain missing. In total, 24 Indian seafarers were onboard the vessel at the time of the attack.

India's foreign ministry condemned the attack on the commercial vessel. The Indian embassy in Oman is currently monitoring the situation and coordinating with Omani authorities in the ongoing search and rescue operation.
