Napoleon Solo won the 151st running of the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, hustling to first place against a field of 13 other horses. He held off Iron Honor down the stretch to secure his first victory of the year.
The victory marks a rebound for Napoleon Solo, who had finished fifth in his two most recent starts. He was the only Grade I winner competing in the field.
The race, the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, featured a wide-open field after Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo was held out of the contest. This year's event was held at Laurel Park because Pimlico in Baltimore is being rebuilt.
