A federal judge in Washington, D.C., has ordered the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to pay more than $250,000 in legal fees to jazz musician Chuck Redd.
The dispute began after Redd canceled his annual free Christmas Eve performance. The musician backed out of the concert to protest the addition of President Donald Trump’s name to the building's facade.
The performing arts center sued Redd for canceling the event, but a superior court judge dismissed the lawsuit in June.
