President Donald Trump has criticized New York City’s new pied-à-terre tax, introduced by Mayor Zohran Mamdani. The new tax is expected to bring in $500 million annually for America's largest city.
In a Truth Social post, Trump called the tax proposal a "dangerous political 'experiment'" that will destroy the city and state.
The president said he would examine whether the federal government can stop the tax, which has been temporarily blocked by a state court.
