Three Latvian climbers die, one rescued after fall on Alaska's Mount McKinley

Three Latvian climbers have died after falling on Mount McKinley in Alaska's Denali National Park and Preserve. A fourth member of the climbing team survived the incident and was rescued.

The climbers were part of a seven-person Latvian mountaineering expedition that had traveled to the United States to ascend Denali, North America’s tallest mountain.

The accident occurred Wednesday near a perilous pass. The National Park Service stated that the group was traversing a route known for exposed sections where many injuries and deaths have occurred over the years.
