Pope Leo XIV will travel to France this September as part of his busy 2026 travel schedule, the Vatican announced on Saturday. The apostolic journey is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 28.
This trip will mark the first official state visit by a pontiff to France in 18 years. The last such visit occurred in September 2008, when Benedict XVI traveled to the country.
During the state visit, Pope Leo XIV is expected to visit Paris as well as Lourdes, located in southwestern France.
