The conflict is approaching the six-month mark this Friday, with no clear path toward a resolution and Iran refusing to surrender. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains severely disrupted.
President Trump has repeated his claim that the vital oil waterway is open, though he stated he has no specific time schedule to resolve the conflict. He has threatened to launch new strikes against a nuclear site as well as Iranian military ships in the key waterway.
Tehran continues to threaten attacks on those that attempt passage without its permission. Iranian officials further stated that an agreement with Oman on routes through Hormuz does not indicate that the strait is open.
