Kenya's Health Ministry has confirmed the country's second Ebola case. The patient, a close relative of the first victim, tested positive while in quarantine. The first case involved a 39-year-old man who died two days after arriving from Congo.
The second patient is currently receiving treatment in isolation. To contain the outbreak, authorities identified 128 contacts linked to the first case and have successfully traced 113 of them.
This infection raises concerns regarding cross-border spread as the outbreak in Congo continues to grow. The development is likely to raise alarms in the country and increase scrutiny of the government's surveillance measures.
