Canada and Ukraine have signed a sweeping 100-year partnership focused on defense production. To address intensified Russian attacks and a shortage of Patriot missiles, Canada is providing C$350 million for critical air defense interceptors. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described this air defense package as very important.
Beyond military hardware, Canada has pledged new funding for energy security and support for the energy industry, along with millions in loan guarantees. These developments were highlighted by President Zelenskyy ahead of a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Carney.
