A 47-year-old woman has been arrested and charged after four men were stabbed in London's Covent Garden district. The incident occurred Wednesday lunchtime on Endell Street, a busy shopping and entertainment area frequented by tourists.
Stella Gollovena, of no fixed address, is accused of stabbing Patrick De Barr, Thomas Harding, Adrian Lovett, and Mantas Jankus in the back using a pair of scissors. The Metropolitan Police have charged Gollovena with four counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The four victims were treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service before being transported to a major trauma center. Two of the men have since been discharged, while two others remain in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Metropolitan Police stated that the attack is believed to be a mental health related incident. A witness at the scene described the suspect as having short hair and appearing incoherent while shouting during her arrest.
