A 47-year-old woman has been arrested after four men were stabbed in Covent Garden, a busy central London area popular with visitors. The incident occurred around lunchtime on Wednesday in the shopping and entertainment district.

The victims, aged 34, 39, 42, and 52, were found with stab wounds on Endell Street. The London Ambulance Service treated the four patients at the scene before transporting them by road to a major trauma center. Two of the men have since been discharged, while two others remain in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Metropolitan Police arrested the woman on suspicion of assault and possession of an offensive weapon. In a statement, police said they currently believe the attack was a mental health related incident.

A witness, Matt Bishop, who works at a consultancy firm next to the scene, described the arrested woman as having short hair and appearing quite old. Bishop stated that the woman seemed incoherent and was shouting as officers attempted to determine what language she was using.
