Major League Soccer has named Larry Berg as its next commissioner. The LAFC co-managing owner and senior partner at private equity firm 26North was selected by the league's board of governors to succeed longtime leader Don Garber.
Berg is set to take over as the head of the 30-year-old league on January 1, 2027. He will be the third commissioner in the history of MLS.
In preparation for the new role, Berg will sell his stake in Los Angeles FC.
