Russia Intensifies Drone Attacks on Ukraine, Offensive Appears Likely

armed conflict defense & military

Russia has intensified attacks across Ukraine, launching a massive wave of drone and missile strikes on civilian areas. The attacks, including nearly 1,000 drones in a 24-hour period – the largest of the war so far – have resulted in at least thirteen deaths and damage to a UNESCO heritage site in Lviv.

The offensive includes nearly 400 long-range drones and 23 cruise missiles, targeting all regions of Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv. Ukrainian authorities report this is one of the largest assaults since the beginning of the conflict.

President Zelenskyy has warned of a missile deficit, citing international focus on conflicts elsewhere. He stated Russia demonstrates “absolute depravity” and has no intention of ending the war. Ground attacks along the front are also reportedly increasing.
