Kennedy Center won't restore Trump's name before Sept 8 amid bid to block it

The Kennedy Center has informed a federal court that it will not attempt to restore Donald Trump's name to the building facade until at least September 8.

This follows a decision by the Trump-aligned board to add the phrase "Restored and Renovated by President Donald J. Trump" to the building. Opponents of the move, including a Democratic lawmaker, have challenged the action. In a status report filed late Tuesday, opponents stated that members of the board seem intent on defying an earlier court order requiring the president's name to be removed.

Lawyers have further reported that the process of installing and then removing Trump's name from the building appears to have damaged the marble facade.
