Israeli strikes on Lebanon continue despite US-Iran deal

armed conflict defense & military

A US-Iran agreement to end the Middle East war was announced on Monday, with leaders preparing to sign a cease-fire this Friday. While there has been a reduction in violence since the announcement, attacks have not stopped.

Israeli forces carried out airstrikes on several areas in south Lebanon on Wednesday, June 17. These strikes have killed at least five people since the agreement was announced.

The full contents of the peace deal, which includes Lebanon, have yet to be revealed. However, the US has confirmed that Israel will not have to withdraw to the international border with Lebanon.
