A UN independent international commission of inquiry and a human rights committee have found that Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip by deliberately targeting Palestinian children. According to the reports, children make up approximately 30% of the people killed by Israeli forces.
The commission stated that the intense scale and systematic nature of military operations resulted in the unprecedented death, injury, and trauma of children, including killings that occurred after a ceasefire came into effect in October 2025. The independent study concluded that Israel aimed to destroy the larger Palestinian group in Gaza, thereby undermining the capacity of the Palestinian people to exist.
Israel’s UN mission rejected the findings, describing the report as a libelous sham and a defamatory advocacy report. The mission called the commission a fundamentally flawed mechanism and asserted that Israel strives to minimize harm to children.
Furthermore, Israel is pushing rights defenders and humanitarian groups to scale down their operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
