Hayden Panettiere, the 36-year-old actress known for her roles in "Heroes" and "Nashville," was found unresponsive in her South Carolina apartment on August 16 and was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy performed by the Greenville County Coroner's Office determined that the death was accidental. A South Carolina medical examiner reported that there were no signs of trauma.
Officials stated that the cause of death was the toxic effects of multiple drugs. Panettiere's system contained fentanyl and its chemical byproduct, 4-ANPP, as well as alprazolam, methocarbamol, and quetiapine, which include anti-anxiety, antipsychotic, and muscle relaxant medications.
