A woman carrying multiple knives stabbed two strangers Monday afternoon in Times Square, New York City's tourist and theater hub. The daylight attack occurred a few blocks from Bank of America's office tower.
One of the victims has been identified as 32-year-old Erin Piacenti, who died following the incident.
The suspect, who had a documented mental health history, was confronted by police. Officers used a taser and fired their weapons, shooting and killing the suspect.
