President Donald Trump has stated that it is ridiculous for the United States to continue its one-sided relationship with NATO. He described the partnership as not reciprocal, making these remarks less than a week before a summit of the military alliance in Ankara, Turkey.
The president has repeatedly lashed out at European allies regarding their response to the war in Iran. Trump claimed that allies were not there for the United States, noting that several countries restricted the use of bases for US forces during the conflict.
However, Kurt Volker told Europe Today that the president's anger at allies for not joining in the war in Iran was an exaggeration.
