Uganda officially declared its Ebola outbreak over on Tuesday, as the country has not recorded a new case since June and has declared itself Ebola-free.
In a contrasting development, the virus continues to spread throughout the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo. The outbreak in eastern Congo has surpassed 3,200 cases, with at least 1,405 deaths, having only passed 1,000 in recent days.
Despite the end of the outbreak, the health minister has urged people in the country to remain alert and continue observing public health measures.
