Bavaria-based startup Isar Aerospace has successfully launched its Spectrum rocket into orbit from the Andøya spaceport in Arctic Norway. The launch occurred 18 months after the company's first attempt.
The uncrewed rocket, which measures 28 metres in length, carried five satellites as part of its mission. This achievement marks the first commercial flight to reach orbit from continental Europe.
The launch strengthens European space autonomy and security as the region pushes for homegrown launch capability. This development comes as several nations seek a share of the growing market for space missions.
