Teens Sue Musk’s xAI Over Grok Generating Sexual Images
## AI Chatbot Sued Over Explicit Images Three Tennessee teenagers have filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s xAI, alleging its Grok image generator created and distributed sexually explicit deepfake images of them without consent. The class-action suit seeks to represent anyone whose images were altered into sexual content by the AI. The lawsuit claims xAI knowingly designed Grok to allow the creation of such content using real photos, with allegations including the production and distribution of child pornography. Lawyers for the plaintiffs state the company prioritized profit despite the dangers of the technology. Following public outcry over the generated content, xAI stated in January it had blocked users from editing images of people in revealing clothing and generating such images where illegal. However, the suit alleges millions of fake sexualized images have already been created. The plaintiffs are seeking class-action status for individuals “reasonably identifiable” in sexualized images generated by Grok based on their real images. xAI has not yet responded to requests for comment.
