At the second World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing, Chinese humanoid robots achieved superhuman feats of athleticism, smashing two human records. On Saturday, a Chinese humanoid robot completed a 100-meter sprint in 9.32 seconds, surpassing the world record of 9.58 seconds set by Usain Bolt. Another robot ran the same distance in 9.39 seconds during the event's opening ceremony.

Organisers of the games stated that robots competing have become twice as fast in a single year. This progress highlights the rapid pace of advancement in the robotics market and specifically within Chinese robotics.

While these robots are demonstrating unprecedented speed, experts say it remains an open question how these athletic feats will translate into the real world.
