Israel vows 'full force' in Lebanon to counter threats despite truce

armed conflict defense & military

The Israeli military has released a map showing its forward defense line and a red area stretching along the south Lebanon border. Forces are operating in this zone to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure and prevent direct threats to communities in northern Israel. Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that the overarching goal of the campaign is the disarmament of Hezbollah and the removal of threats to northern communities.

During the operations, the military was ordered to demolish any structures or roads that were booby-trapped. The six-week war between Israel and Hezbollah has resulted in a total Israeli army death toll of 15.

In southern Lebanon, some displaced residents have rushed back to their homes. Others remain hesitant to return, expressing uncertainty about the durability of the 10-day truce.
