UN: Israel continued Gaza genocide after truce and committed West Bank crimes

united nations

A United Nations commission stated in a report published Monday that Israel continued to commit genocide in Gaza following last October's US-brokered ceasefire. The commissioned team reported that Israel is continuing to commit genocidal acts with the genocidal intent to destroy, in whole or in part, the Palestinians in Gaza.

The report highlights crimes including extermination, torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence. Furthermore, the panel accuses Israel of committing crimes against humanity in the West Bank.

Israel condemned the report, with the Israeli mission in Geneva dismissing the findings as part of a misinformation campaign. Israel has long criticized the commission's output and denied accusations of genocide in Gaza and sexual assault by its forces.

The commission is due to present its report to the UN General Assembly in New York on October 26.
