Kenya has confirmed a new Ebola case, bringing the total number of infections in the country to nine, according to the health ministry on Tuesday, October 20.

This update follows the recording of an eighth case on Sunday. The latest patient, a 24-year-old man, tested positive while in quarantine and was identified as a contact of the country's first Ebola patient.

The outbreak began when an infected traveler entered Kenya from the Democratic Republic of Congo through Uganda. This situation persists as the outbreak in the nearby DRC continues to spread to new areas.
