An attack on a newly completed suspension bridge in Iran has resulted in multiple casualties. Initial reports indicate eight people were killed and 95 wounded when a portion of the B1 bridge, between Tehran and Karaj, collapsed.

The 136-meter-high, $400 million bridge was reportedly struck, splitting the structure and causing it to fall onto the causeway below. Footage of the collapse has been widely circulated.

Following the incident, Donald Trump claimed responsibility for the destruction, stating “much more to follow.” This action occurred after previous threats to bomb the country if a deal to end a five-week-long war, which he initiated, was not reached.

A semiofficial news agency confirmed the casualty count, reporting eight deaths and dozens of injuries as a result of the attack.
