environment natural disasters

Europe is facing its fifth major heatwave of the summer, as an unusually hot and dry season turns wide swathes of the continent into tinder. This latest wave of record-breaking heat has triggered numerous wildfires across several countries.

Firefighters in France and central England are currently battling multiple fires. These efforts come as extreme temperatures continue to impact the region.

Blazes have also erupted in Germany and Croatia, prompting evacuations. In Croatia, at least a dozen people have reportedly been hospitalized after fires tore into the tourist town of Omis. Germany has become the latest European country to be beset by these wildfires.
