Sony and Marvel's Spider-Man: Brand New Day has made box office history following its first weekend in cinemas. The film set the record for the highest domestic opening weekend of all time, securing $360 million in ticket sales from theaters in the U.S. and Canada.
This performance broke the record for the biggest North American opening weekend previously held by Avengers: Endgame, which debuted to $357 million in 2019. The movie's strong start began with a record opening day of $168 million from 4,487 theaters across the U.S. and Canada.
The superhero film is now on track to become the highest grossing movie of 2026, overtaking the box office tally of The Odyssey in just four days. It is expected to pass the $1 billion mark within the next couple of days.
