Israel accused of ethnic cleansing and Hamas of executing Palestinians

Amnesty International has accused Israel of presiding over a campaign of ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank. The rights group stated that a significant acceleration in the speed and scale of annexation measures is being used to remove Palestinians and facilitate the territory's annexation. The organization further alleged that Israel is using war crimes to accelerate this annexation agenda and settlement expansion.

A UN inquiry reports that Israeli authorities are directly involved in settler attacks that have killed, injured, and displaced Palestinians, while Israeli security forces provide protection to the settlers. Another UN report documented hundreds of cases of extrajudicial punishment in the war-ravaged territory, noting these were often publicized to instill fear. Civilians across both Gaza and the West Bank are reportedly being systematically and deliberately subjected to severe rights violations.

Israel has rejected the charges that its troops shield settlers during attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank. Additionally, Amnesty International claimed that Western governments have done too little to prevent the reported campaign of ethnic cleansing.
