A trial is set to begin in Austria for 21-year-old Beran A., who is accused of plotting an attack on one of Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna in 2024. The man is alleged to have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group.

Prosecutors say that Beran A. received training from members of the jihadist group on how to handle explosives. As a result, he faces several charges, including terrorist offenses.

The 21-year-old could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison if found guilty. His lawyer has stated that he will plead guilty to the main charges.
