Scottie Scheffler has taken a three-stroke lead at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis following the second round. The world No. 1 delivered a dominant performance on Friday, shooting a nine-under 61 to move into the top spot.
Scheffler equaled the course record during his round, highlighted by a hot start where he birdied the first five holes.
The lead puts Scheffler ahead of Norway’s Viktor Hovland, who shot a 64, and South Korea’s Im Sung-jae, who carded a 66.
Earlier in the tournament on Thursday, Jordan Spieth shot a bogey-free 65, which gave him a four-way share of the lead.
