A series of bomb threats targeted multiple European airlines and flights over recent days, including on Tuesday. At least seven to ten planes were affected, forcing security sweeps and diversions across the continent.
Ryanair was the most affected airline, with threats targeting routes to Rome, Sofia, and Warsaw. Specific flights involved included those from London, Manchester, and Copenhagen, as well as a flight from Israel bound for Sofia. Two passenger planes headed for Warsaw and a Ryanair jet traveling from London to Spain were also among those targeted.
The threats caused significant disruption, including the temporary closure of one of Warsaw's airports. One Ryanair jet landed in Spain under an emergency protocol, while another aircraft required an escort by the Italian Air Force until touchdown.
Despite the disruptions, officials confirmed that no explosive devices were found and all threats were hoaxes. All affected aircraft landed safely and no one was injured.
