Chelsea fined £10m for FA rule breaches, avoid points deduction

Chelsea have been fined £10 million by the English FA after admitting to multiple historical breaches of regulations relating to payments to agents between 2009 and 2022.

In addition to the fine, the club has been given a suspended two-window transfer ban. This penalty replaces a suspended six-point deduction previously imposed by an independent commission, which has now been set aside.

The breaches were self-reported by Chelsea following the club's takeover by Todd Boehly and private equity firm Clearlake Capital in May 2022.
