Dutch rider Demi Vollering won the grueling eighth stage of the Tour de France Femmes on Saturday. By winning the stage, Vollering snatched the leader's yellow jersey with just one stage remaining in the race.
Vollering secured the victory by launching a blistering uphill attack. This late attack allowed her to race clear and distance her rival, Kasia Niewiadoma.
As a result of the stage win, the Dutch rider unseated Niewiadoma to take control of the race on the eve of the finish.
